Ada Developers Academy is a non-profit, tuition-free coding school for women and gender expansive adults. We focus on serving Black, Latine, Indigenous, and Pacific Islander communities, low income people, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Our program consists of two highly immersive parts: six months of focused instruction, and five months of internship at partner companies, where students refine their skills working on real-world code.

About this position

The Sr. Director of Marketing & Outreach (SDMO) at Ada will lead a team dedicated to spreading the word about Ada to a wide range of stakeholders. Reporting to the CEO, the SDMO will bring expertise in digital marketing, paid advertising, and awareness building that will be critical to Ada achieving its mission and vision. Over the next five years Ada will become a national organization with hubs in several major cities. The SDMO will lead our efforts to build student and corporate partner demand in new markets, as well as community engagement and a strong volunteer base through awareness-building campaigns and targeted outreach. This is a full-time, exempt position with an annual salary of $110,000 and excellent benefits.

Core Responsibilities

• Build & drive marketing and outreach strategy to ensure all demographically aligned and qualified candidates for Ada know we exist, and know how to apply

• Lead a growing team of 4+ (Marketing & Communications Manager, Social Media Specialist, Outreach Specialist (SEA), and Outreach Specialist (ATL))

• Thoughtfully leverage external resources to support PR, web development, etc.

• Oversee: PR & Communications

• Oversee: Student demand generation & community outreach

• Drive Ada’s digital marketing & paid advertising strategy, implementation & evaluation

• Develop and deliver a web optimization strategy to increase conversion and engagement on Ada’s website

• Establish a self-service suite of content and templates to increase brand adoption

Qualifications

• 7-10 years digital marketing experience

• 3-5 years leading a marketing team

• Experience leading multi-stakeholder marketing functions

• Experience working with BIPOC communities and grassroots organizations with an ability to develop trusting relationships with diverse individuals from many different backgrounds

• Flexibility, able to shift priorities, manage competing deadlines, and adjust communication styles to fit the needs of a wide range of cultures, people, and organizations.

• Experience growing talent from within through professional development, mentorship, project-based learning, etc.
